INDIAN UNION
Sub:- 5th
Asia - Pacific Regional Air /Internet Jamboree on 1 – 2 August 2009.
Dear
Sir/Madam,
We
are pleased to inform you that the Asia – Pacific Region is organizing the 5h
Asia- Pacific Regional Air/Internet Jamboree, which is being hosted by
Singapore Scouts Association on
1-2 August 2009.
The APR
Air/Internet Jamboree is a regional event in which Scout/Guide can contact
each other by amateur radio and through the Internet. It is the excitement
of having a live conversation with a fellow Scout and Guide in some other
place in the world that attracts so many to this event. The Air-Internet
Jamboree is a real Jamboree during which Scouting experiences are exchanged
and ideas are shared. It’s a unique opportunity for Scout/Guide in all age
ranges to discover that they belong to a worldwide movement.
The event is strongly supported
by the Singapore Amateur Radio Transmitting Society (SARTS) and InfoCom
Development Agency (IDA) which is the Singapore’s local telecommunications regulatory body.
The APR Air/Internet Jamboree is a wonderful platform for the regional Scout/Guide to “meet” and establish contacts with one another in real –time since there is little time difference between our
countries. We would like to urge your national Scout organization to
disseminate this information as widely as possible to all units in your
country so they may have the opportunity to take part. Scout/Guide may participate in all or any part of the 48 hours of 1-2 August 2009
weekend.
All States of the region are requested to circulate this information widely to all units in their State so that they have the opportunity to take part in this event.
Help and Information
An “event portal” is currently being constructed at
http://www.scout.org.sg/apraij.htm
By the end of May 2009, this portal will provide the latest information on the APR Air/Internet Jamboree. This portal will also provide activity information instructions, Update on the participating NSOs, their contacts details and the necessary links.
How to proceed
a)
visit an
amateur-radio station with your Scout group or invite a radio amateur to install his station in your Scout Building;
b)
call “CQ Jamboree” or
answer Scout station calling to establish a contact;
c)
all radio station

d)

radio frequency may be used.
e)
Station should

announced calling frequency.
Let us give
opportunity to our Scouts/Guide to have a wonderful time during the 5th
APR Air/Internet on
1-2 August 2009.
We also
hope that all HAMS of Bharat Scouts & Guides will meet each other on
1-2
