Motorola Funds School Radio clubs in Malaysia

Motorola, Inc., now the corporate parent of Yaesu, has announced that its Malaysian subsidiary is working the Malaysian Amateur Radio Transmitters' Societey (MARTS) to establish amateur radio clubs in up to 40 secondary schools around the country.
According to a news release, each club will receive a base station and three handhelds, as well as "infrastructure and engineering support, training of teacher advisors, and [assistance] in license acquisition. "Motorola's Managing Director in the region said the program is intended "to promote the excitement of comunications technology to students at a young age and stimulate an interest for electronics and technolog, particularly in the subject of engineering."
